Baja Oval Class Rules
1. 2wd HPI Baja 5B or 5T platform

3. Stock and
Open classes
a. Stock - Any currently available stock CY or Zenoah motor
of 23 or 26cc. No porting allowed. Stock can exhaust. Stock class will be
"claimer" rules. If a motor is protested, a fee of street price for the motor is
paid up front IN CASH. If the motor is found to be illegal, the protester gets
the motor and thier money back and the cheater is disqualified. If the motor is
found to be legal, the wrongly accused keeps the money and the motor. However,
at any time during the races a motor can be claimed. The person claimed against
does not have to open their motor until after the event is over. Once the last
race has been run for the particular event the motor will be inspected.
b. Open class. Any motor from 23cc to 30.5cc, any exhaust pipe and fuel.
4. Functioning fail safes are required. Kill switches are not.
5.
Functional brakes are required for corner marshall safety.
6. Exhaust and
tire rules are at the discretion of the track owners.
7. Rolling start
and caution flag will be at the discretion of the track owners but recommended.
8. No sharp or steel front bumpers.

leave the drama behind as well. This is for OVAL BAJA racing.
As LSRC stated: Simple rules are the best rules. Give people options. Let them choose what they want to run and learn for themselves.

General
Rules Race directors will have ultimate authority over rules enforcement. The primary basis for any rules decision must be based on what will be best for the majority of racers. If an item is not addressed in the rules listed here than you should assume it is not legal.

Classes All 2WD Classes: All entries must be 2wd and rear wheel drive only. For turn marshal safety all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex etc. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to any other portion of the car in a front impact. All cars must have 4-wheel independent suspension. No straight axle cars allowed, single speed transmissions only. All EDM bodies, sprint car bodies and cages must resemble contemporary full scale cars racing in “World of Outlaws” and “DIRT” sanctioned events. All corners of bodies and wings must be rounded for safety. No silicone or rubber capped tires allowed.

Models
Wings: Center section and side panels must be made from at least 3 separate pieces of polycarbonate, carbon or aluminum material. All corners and edges must be rounded and free of sharp edges. Main and Front wings must be mounted so that they are centered on cage, no offset wings. Wing center sections must have all 4 corners set at 90 degree angles, no canted or angled panels. Wings must also be mounted level from side to side. Center section of wing may not extend beyond leading or trailing edge of side panels. Side panels must have braces that hold side panel rigid at 90deg. to center section during race conditions. Two braces are required from top of the center foil to the left sideboard and one brace is permitted below the center foil to the right side board. Braces can be a maximum of .750" wide and front edge of front brace must be no more than 1.5” back from side panel leading edge. Side Panels may have front, back, top and bottom turnouts of no more than .375" and are included in max dimension. Flat foil center sections will be allowed a .250” turndown at the leading edge. The 6x6" wing will be the standard Sprint Car wing size. Race organizers and series directors may at their discretion allow the optional 7x7" wing rule for races and series using buggy or rubber tires. Race organizers may also choose to run wingless sprint events. 6x6" Foam Tire Wing: See Drawing 7x7" Buggy Tire Wing: See Drawing Limited and Stock sprint: No front wings allowed.
Motors & Batteries
All racers shall take every precaution to insure safe charging and discharging techniques with their batteries. This shall include but is not limited to, attentive monitoring of battery during charging and use of a proper charging container i.e., LiPo sack. To insure safe charging methods are followed by all competitors, all batteries will be checked prior to each race to ensure battery voltage is a maximum of 8.44 volts or less. If the battery reads 8.45 or more you do not race. Battery temperature may also be checked with the following pre-race procedure. A control pack will be placed in the tech area for the purpose of monitoring the pack temperature. Checked batteries shall be nor more than 70° F or 10° F above the temp of the control pack whichever is greater. All DirtOval.com Spec batteries must use the supplied deans style connector. DirtOval.com Spec motors must be out of the box stock, with no modifications allowed. No parts of motors may be modified, altered or removed in any way. More specific Tech guidelines for motors will be available to all participating track owners and race organizers. Weights (including

All classes: Maximum fuel tank size is 75cc. No stinger modifications and no pipes with adjustable stingers allowed.

This rule package outlines all the requirements for a controlled racing program (SPEC) for the Losi 1/10 Slider. The rules set fourth are a simple guideline to promote entry level racing without increased cost for the racer. Vehicle Requirements: Losi 1/10 Slider must be run in stock configuration or better known as BOX STOCK. No aftermarket components can be added to the vehicle to enhance handling capabilities. The only items that can be changed are as follows:
Motor: For the 1/10 Slider Spec class the stock Losi LM-32K motor must be used at all times. Batteries: Battery liimited to any 6-cell sub-C NiMh not exceed 4200 mah. Electronics: Vehicle must use all stock Losi electronics that are supplied with the vehicle. They are as follows:
Skill Level: There are 2 skill levels for racing the controlled Slider Class. They are as follows
Race Lengths: All race lengths will be 4 minutes with a maximum of 3 qualifiers and single main events. Triple A-Main events will not be used. Vehicle Minimum Weight: 4 lb. 5 oz. (stock weight of vehicle with Losi 3600NiMh Performance Spec battery used) |
